About the Event

This Pistol Skills Open Range Day (ORD) event will focus on core fundamental principles of operating and shooting the semi-auto handgun while focusing on individual performance, accuracy, speed and weapons malfunctions while engaging various targets, target sizes and shapes at various distances.

Students will participate in group and individual shooting drills and individual assessment with direct interaction and training with the instructors. We will focus on proper utilization of the handgun with a focus on speed and accuracy, performing reloads, clearing malfunctions in a competitive setting.

All attendees need a:

• Semi-automatic handgun
• IWB, AIWB or OWB holster designed for that weapon
• 3 -4 magazines
• 250 rounds of ammunition
• Double magazine pouch
• Belt, associated gear
• Eye and ear protection
• Fluids, snack and lunch
• Appropriate clothing and headgear
• Body armor; soft or hard or plate carrier with plates is optional

We will be shooting steel at times so attendees MUST have side shields on their eye protection.

Participation in training requires exercises and tests of physical agility, movement, rapid heart rate, unconventional shooting positions in which the attendee assumes full responsibility for his/her own safety and improper weapons handling skills.
