About the Event

This Handgun Proficiency Development Course is the foundational course focusing on the core principals of marksmanship while operating and shooting the semi-auto handgun. This course will cover the 8 Fundamentals of Marksmanship while focusing on each individual attendee’s performance, weapons handling, functional operation of the weapon, accuracy and speed.

Students will participate in group and individual shooting drills and individual shooter assessment with direct interaction and training with the instructors. We will focus on proper utilization of the handgun with a focus on each person’s draw stroke, presentation, speed and accuracy while conducting performance-based drills in a friendly, adult learning and competitive setting with a focus on our brain-based approach to learning.

We do not teach the class as a whole but instead teach to each individual attendee who have unique individual learning requirements.

All attendees need a:

• Semi-automatic handgun
• IWB, AIWB or OWB holster designed for that weapon
• 3 -4 magazines
• Double magazine pouch
• Belt, associated gear
• Eye and ear protection
• 300 rounds of ammunition
• Fluids, snack and lunch
• Appropriate clothing and headgear
• Body armor; soft or hard or plate carrier with plates is optional

We will be shooting steel at times so attendees MUST have side shields on their eye protection.

Participation in training requires the student to safely handle, load, unload and operate firearms, long periods of standing, walking, moving and standing in close proximity to others with loaded firearms, in which the attendee assumes full responsibility for his/her own safety, actions, decision making and improper weapons handling skills.

All attendees MUST acknowledge the Release of Liability Waiver and Safety Brief prior to registering and paying.

All attendees MUST RSVP using the event tool and submit the registration fee.
