About the Event

Handheld Low Light Pistol Course is a low-light handgun course focused on effective pistol performance using a handheld flashlight in reduced and no-light environments.

The course begins with a brief classroom block covering ambient light conditions and how low light affects vision, accuracy, perception, and decision-making under stress. Students will be introduced to the five common handheld light techniques, when to apply each, and how to manage light effectively while shooting.

Live-fire training will emphasize pistol fundamentals in low light, including strong-hand-only shooting, reloads, malfunction clearing, movement, and positional shooting. Shooters will work through individual and group drills designed to reinforce safe gun handling, light discipline, speed, and accuracy in realistic conditions.

If you carry a handheld light, you MUST be familiar with strong hand only shooting, shooting with a light tube in your grip and shooting in unconventional positions with light distortion. Step out of your comfort zone, push your training standards, compete with yourself and against other shooters.

All attendees need a:

• Semi-automatic handgun
• IWB, AIWB or OWB holster designed for that weapon
• 3 magazines
• double magazine pouch
• belt, associated gear
• Handheld Light with batteries
• Weapon Mounted Light with batteries
• Eye and ear protection
• Chair
• Fluids, snack and lunch
• Appropriate clothing and headgear
• Body armor; soft or hard or plate carrier with plates (OPTIONAL)

We will be shooting steel at times so attendees MUST have side shields on their eye protection. It is recommended you bring clear eye protection for the night shoot.

Participation in training requires exercises and tests of physical agility, movement, rapid heart rate, unconventional shooting positions in which the attendee assumes full responsibility for his/her own safety and improper weapons handling skills.

All attendees MUST acknowledge the Release of Liability Waiver and Safety Brief prior to registering and paying.

All attendees MUST RSVP using the event tool.

Upon successful completion of the course, attendees will receive a certificate of training for GEN Firearms 2055 Handheld Low Light Pistol. Training will be conducted by Paraclete Consulting Group and self-reported to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement through the Data Distribution System (TCLEDDS) by the attending officer to the agencies and department approved Law Enforcement representative. All law enforcement related training or training that relates directly to the current or future duties of a license may be reported for any license.
